Hakone and I have this..erhmm hatred against each other. I can't even break like '31 on Hakone and yet I am in the mid-55 for Yokohane up, 48 for down and mid 49 for Osaka -.-

Around two weeks ago, I was running '35s....LOL

Usually people play with 760HP/D. But some of them likes their car to be more "grippy", so that they chose 740HP/B over 760HP/D. But everything depends on your preference. If you like drifty cars mode than grippy cars, i think you would prefer 760HP/D. I prefer 760HP/D over 740HP/B. But when I first started TAing on this course (yeah, the crappy 2'43"xxx time on Inbound), I started practising on 740HP/B, then try using 760HP/D.

hahahhaha

okok before hatred starts, you guys better drop it, or take it to PM

740hp vs 760hp..hmmm

For me, it's based on how my car is set up

I actually like a slidy car with 740hp more than a grippy car with 760hp

but that's just me.

I think most of them here has already tried that 6 months ago, and now they need a more advance techniques to break into the 2'29/2'28 part... wink2.gif

I thought so too but whenever I watch people battle on Hakone they go full speed into the wall and still crash into each other. laugh.gif

For EVOLUTION VIII, i've tried several settings to go quite good on Hakone..

Stock Bodykit
ENKEI WRC TARMAC EVO FORGED... or whatever the name is (the white one) Rims
Stock Wings
Stock Mirrors
Carbon-Fiber Hood (Original)

Try using 760HP/D with this setting.. I got 2'30"xxx using this setting. It doesn't slide too much, compared to the "all-stock" settings.

For a SKYLINE GT-R V-spec II [BNR34]...

Aero Set C
ENKEI RPF-1 Rims
No Wings
Aero Mirrors
Carbon-Fiber Hood (Ducted)

For a FAIRLADY Z Version S [Z33]

Aero Set C
ENKEI RPF-1 Rims
Bodykit Wing
Aero Mirrors
Carbon-Fiber Hood (Ducted)

For a SKYLINE GT-R [BNR32]

All-stock setting..

Will update again after finishing the "MR2 Dressup Project" =_="
I hate using RAYS Rims on MR2s.. It slides like sh*t.. T_T

Will be starting the FD3S project soon.. FD3S + Hakone = GG

Enkei Forged were the god wheels of MT2, but they're kinda slow in MT3...

For E8, definitely go with Advan 3spokes instead, they provide the driftyness and the monstrous acceleration that's needed to set a fast TA record. Enkei Forged in MT3 seems to be grip and be stable, but acceleration totally sucks.

From what I've experienced, if you want to set fast TA records on Hakone...don't use a GT wing. A GT wing will provide unecesarry grip, causing your car to understeer in a turn, in result causing you to run a worse line. You can still set fast times with a GT wing, but it's just easier to use a stock wing or to go wingless.

I only played Hakone IB TA yesterday because I haven't played it in such a long time...managed a crappy 28'8 with stock dressup FD @ 740hp...ac101 was like...sigh, you're not even going to break into 28, since you crashed like 5 or 6 times...

Advan 3spokes as in the one that was famous for the R32 in MT2? Or did you mean the RCII?

ON the conterery, Forged and Gt wing for any course is the best set up. I would know since my buddy bart hit 27 outbound and 26 inbound with that setup on his E8, so wink2.gif
not to mention, Hakone is really technical, sliding is good on it. I only hit 27"5 inbound so i wouldnt be able to give advice, but Bart the god of hakone had a 27 outbound like 4 months ago. dry.gif

27"5xx is godly mate.. I can't even touch the 2x"xxx area..

Well, settings depends on your preference.. Not really a "must" on every course.
If you like it, then go for it. If you don't like it, so discard it.

I might try some of those settings xeoreg and Speed advised. Using my friend's EVOLUTION 8. Coz My EVOLUTION 8 has not been Fully-Tuned..

My only FT car is the Z33 and the R34 =P which is crappy for Hakone.. (but nice if you could control it~)
