Well...I've been stuck in the 2'30' in IB and 2'31' in OB
For months...I believe I can at least do 1 second faster now...
Just that everytime I try to break my own TA's I managed to crash...>_>
I wish I run like I do when in battles...*sigh*

QUOTE (Speed @ Today at 11:40 AM)
ON the conterery, Forged and Gt wing for any course is the best set up. I would know since my buddy bart hit 27 outbound and 26 inbound with that setup on his E8, so wink2.gif
not to mention, Hakone is really technical, sliding is good on it. I only hit 27"5 inbound so i wouldnt be able to give advice, but Bart the god of hakone had a 27 outbound like 4 months ago. dry.gif

hahaha, I guess we have different styles of playing then laugh.gif

Bart has been the king of Hakone OB since MT2 days though ~

Playing Ramming on Hakone is like a double-edged sword.

Sometimes when you hit your opponent right on the spot, it leaves them far behind.

But in a few corners, when you took a wrong line for ramming, it would end up leaving yourself far behind. (own experience : just yesterday =_=")

IMO, try to play as clean as possible, concentrate on your lines if you're playing in Hakone.

But if you can't resist seeing your opponent on a "ready to ram" position, just ram them, but look for the right spots.

Hey guys

Whats a decent non-pro Hakone time for both inbound and out bound...

I cant remember my time, i think it was in the '40's but that was before my 820 stats...

would a '35 be good?

@fknazn

'35s for a non-pro is quite good.
First time I do my TAs on Hakone it was '47 for Inbound. So crappy =_="

Just practice on your lines and your countersteering, try not to crash any walls, you'll be able to get around '31 or '32s if you only crash once or twice.

I just can't reach the times below 30. My best time in Hakone is only 2'30"955 using an RX-8.

Should be better when I finish my FD project.. ^o^

I found it rather amusing when I get better times using the R34 than the R32... laugh.gif
The R34 was going like a pinball around the course and still manage to secure a 2'36"3xx and the R32 only manage to do a mere 2'37'6.. =.=

on Outbound or Inbound?

I've never TA'd Outbound.. so, yeah =_="

You might wanna try once more with your R32. I found that R32s are better to drive in Hakone compared to R34s. (even though i'm using the R34 myself)

R32s are good cars to play in Hakone.

R32's handling is simillar to EVOLUTION 8, but R32s got longer nose. so, yeah..

I dunno what am I doing..

TRIED AN MR2 BUT... 2'33"xxx? 2'34"xxx? MY GOD...

How could my R34 do better than an MR2? =_=" or it's just me that's not really familiar with the MR2?

MR2 handles differently than all the other cars...it has like...erm...twitchy handling because the engine is in the back

MR2. tried a FD, i reckon the acceleration of it isn't as fitting for hakone as the mr2. but hey, it's just my two cents.

what's the lowest gear you'd go in a 6 gear on hakone?
i feel terrible dropping it to third sometimes.

Just to clarify, on a 5 gear car, you normally would never go to 5th gear cause you never reach it right? I'm just wondering if my shift points are correct cause I normally never touch 5th gear.

not really, while it's true that most of time you will only use 4th gear, there are few straights on hakone where you can reach and use 5th gear speed on 5 gear car.

RX-8 seems good, but i think it lacks the acceleration. Top speed is good, but the accel..? =_="

MR2 lor o_O my God.. How come I can't play with MR2 =_=" should learn how to play MR2 then

Actually, in some of the straightways you can use the top-gear (6th / 5th) on the straights near the CP3 checkpoint..

This is true, after the snake hairpins on Inbound theres a spot to hit 5th/6th for about 5 or 6 second XD. Same place on Outbound, but on the opposite side =P.
