@ MaxX, I can clear up that issue of the shaded card issue. I've transferred my Cosmos which was shaded. Upon completing Story Mode + FT, it was unshaded. I then deliberately lost to see and the card came back as shaded. So I'm guessing that if you have a shaded car from MT3 and you finish unshaded, you can be shaded if you do lose in story mode.

This makes sense and is the most likely possibility. Consider that by doing just the last 20 stages, it really doesn't count as doing all 100 unshaded, because you were shaded coming from MT3.

Doing another loop flawlessly from start to finish should permanently unshade your car just as it has in every other version. But we won't know for sure until someone tests it.

Still, if the OP hasn't been updated with all this new info roxas and I pointed out yet, it should be soon.

QUOTE (MaxX @ Mar 23 2009, 05:27 AM)

I have an unshaded card that I carried over to DX, upon losing matches in both my 20 story stages to get to 825hp, AND one stage in the next loop of 100, my car remained unshaded.

So

What I can conclude from this is:

-When transferring an unshaded MT3 card over to DX, it will be permanently unshaded regardless.
-If you go unshaded in your first loop and lose a match in another loop, your card will remain unshaded.

Did you get the sp Meter when u lost?

Perhaps I'll do the Shading test on my Z33 later (I've been using it as a "testbed" since DX came out). It was created in MT3 from a discard and (while using Auto Transmission biggrin.gif) finished unshaded (so it has the Wangan Midnight R BGM). Then when DX came out I transferred it to DX and completed it unshaded as well (so it now has the Special Meter). So I'll see if shading it on the next loop will have any effect.

On the other hand, my R32 had some interesting results. It was created in MT2 but got shaded, I transferred it to MT3 (of course no Namco Tach), did one loop of Story Mode unshaded so it has the WMR BGM. I then transferred it to DX, and lost one chapter within the 20 requried before going 825 ("First Black Mark" was offered as title). Still, when I got the card to check it, it appeared Unshaded. Nevertheless, after finishing those 20 chapters, it didn't get the Special Meter (but it still has the WMR BGM).

a card that finished one 80 stage loop in mt3 unshaded will remain unshaded in dx, even if you loose..

i tested another theory the other day (Which flopped TOTALLY... everything i theorized was opposite ><) and my card didnt shade

Chuckles were had.

And yeah Sailor Enlil, the only thing we were trying to figure out with shading was whether a shaded MT3 carryover would shade after completing the last 20 stages without losing, but then losing on the next loop. Since you technically haven't done all 100 stages without losing.

Everything else is figured out. Unshaded = permanent in any capacity, carryover or not.

It does not work this way. Every 100 chapters means starting all over again. For example, if i get shaded on my first loop, and i play story number 101, i will be counted as unshaded as i am starting on a fresh sheet of paper, in that sense. So basically you will be considered unshaded from the moment you play the first story of any loop. Considering you win it, defintely.

But to get the benefits of having a finished unshaded car, you need to finish at least one loop unshaded. Just BEING unshaded after starting another loop, in which the previous one you were shaded, does not count towards gaining anything.
