I think this applies to anyone with a non-BW car. So I guess I feel a bit special when I win with my R33 then..

yeah i used the SVX as an example

Oh I'm actually using the MS6 now, great car smile.gif I quite fancy the BL5 though, either that or R33 as recommended. I think I prefer 4WD but not too sure if that actually matters? Cause it feels like my MS6 handles way better than my sky coupe. Then again coupe was my first car..

Skyline coupe or CKV36 is a FR, it also handles like Z34 but heavier and better suited on battles

or you could try GC8 the older Impreza, the top speed is ok but I do suggest ask your buddies who has FT'd one to see if you like it

Sweeet biggrin.gif can do with a wider carpool HAHA carpool.. ah...
By the way when you say Wangan superiority, do you mean these cars won't be as good in courses with more turns? Sadly I have no other friends who plays the game excessive enough, so I have no choice but to solo. It's also why I resorted to visiting online for answers lol, trust me the last thing I want to do is bother vets with trivial questions pinch2.gif

actually it can manage other courses as well but you just need to familiarize better to the car

unlike some slidey cars they just lose speed bad at turns and catching up speed is slow

Will it be as good as the absolute top tier cars? Nope.

Will it matter on a daily basis..... Wellll not really. If you know the car you can sort of fudge your way through. You'll have a slight disadvantage against other cars yes, but its not an end of the world thing.
If you manage to learn your cars nuances more as compared to your opponent you'll be the one with the advantage

Well, this is actually my first time posting here...

It's about a wheel, actually. May I just ask, if the Watanabe 8-spokes(Dress-up Lvl. 3), had an all black color option in the past installments? or is it just black rims, with silver lip?

Can it be said that "bandwagon" cars are essentially recommended cars for beginners?
I wanna start a new car, and to me bandwagon cars = fast and you will win, but my inner hipster is telling me don't do it unsure.gif what me do?

Learning the game on a less common/non top-tier car will actually be an advantage to you in the long run. I started all the way back in MT2 with an SVX, and I had to work so much harder to keep up with all the Evo8's and R34's. It forced me to get my technique up instead of relying on the abilities of the car, so when I finally did pick up a top-tier car, I absolutely decimated the competition.

It's like training with ankle weights essentially.

@Pasta: Speaking of the SVX, it's still underused in MT4, but I heard from one of my teammates that it got buffed.

Yeah, it's the 2nd fastest Wangan Line car behind the R35.

in the 4 gear class... the SVX tops on Wangan Hi-speed areas and no slouch either in battles

wherein my one battle buddy laughed on my SVX's title.... "Wangan Boing Boing" evilbrows.gif

if he sees where I based my SVX at he'll understand the title then rolleyes.gif

According to the overall rankings across all Time Attack areas in MT4, the SVX is currently the 7th best overall car in MT4. I'll probably never get to play MT4, but it makes me happy to know that considering it was 3rd or 4th worst throughout MT2 & 3.

As for its characteristics, at least as far my experience with it, it has far subpar acceleration, and relatively poor handling, but is in the highest class for top speed, and is quite strong in battles thanks to being heavy and mostly unmovable. It was loads of fun back in MT2 when "overhauls" were still a thing and each time through story mode would make your car slightly more resistant to bumps from opponents. I personally had 16 overhauls on my SVX, and it was so resistant that the basic Evo8 that would try to ram me would essentially bounce off of me lol.

It's also no slouch in TA in the older versions. I managed a 52'9 on C1 OB in MT3 which was only .6xx slower than my Evo8 time. I think there was even a 52'3 on the IR for it, which was only 1.4 seconds off the World Record.

tl;dr I like my SVX. smile.gif

The SVX has a lot of potential, I still have to utilize mine yet.

On topic: How do you get prepared for sudden twists in the routes on VS mode? (eg. Wangan to Yaesu, C1 to Wangan..)

Well, there is that right turn in C1 inward when you choose the route that goes to either NBL or Yokohane. I don't think it was used in TA

ZR1 handles like a boat, but it has good speed. It also has decent accel.

And yes, its possible, it depends on the directions you choose during the battle.

The Supra (JZA80) has a bit better handling than the ZR1.

It's more underused than the ZR1, the ZR1 is overused.

But it is still a pretty good car. The first two Aero Kits aren't that good in terms of performance and visuals. Aero C is when the Supra starts to look and feel good.
