QUOTE (WanganComet @ 2 hours, 6 minutes ago) | Dnb has been doing just fine without most of the other games at r1. Not getting wangan wouldn't kill them as a company if we're being honest. |
Still a foolish business decision to not get the game in. Just saying.
QUOTE (N643 @ 17 minutes, 4 seconds ago) | In a business point of u, u have to remember that mt5 is not cheap and also u have to pay for online running fees and maintenance fee every month (which is a standard for mt) |
Return investment can be huge. See this conversation I had with a friend: http://imgur.com/a/FsVDIQUOTE (GAARA @ 17 minutes, 4 seconds ago) | I always thought DNB wouldn't get it. Expensive machines with a bunch of drunk of people who will play anything there. The likely scenario I see is someone jumps on once and then leaves to play something else. These people won't care about tuning and all the stuff. |
That's kind of shitty thinking to be honest. Assuming they wouldn't get it in. Then why did they test it in the first place? They wouldn't have tested it if they weren't interested. Plus, don't assume that about single serving players. I say this as someone who was previously one of these people (Mainly because A. The game was hard to find. B. When I could, cards wouldn't work at times). Not to mention, Namco did some stuff to try to get these types of people hooked on the game. (See unnecessary logo change and re-designed cabinet for proof)

I'm thinking from the point of average person who would be at DNB. I agree it is a shitty way of thinking, but i feel like when looking at the perspective of gaming, people who frequent places like DNB, are there for reasons other than games. You look at a place like round1, people are there for certain games, like the crowds that come for all the bemani games or DDR. Outside of a redemption game or shooting hoops, never really seen someone pump multiple credits into a game.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they lost interest during the test period. BTW, I do hope they eventually get it.
