QUOTE (GAARA @ 12 minutes, 59 seconds ago) | I'm thinking from the point of average person who would be at DNB. I agree it is a shitty way of thinking, but i feel like when looking at the perspective of gaming, people who frequent places like DNB, are there for reasons other than games. You look at a place like round1, people are there for certain games, like the crowds that come for all the bemani games or DDR. Outside of a redemption game or shooting hoops, never really seen someone pump multiple credits into a game.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they lost interest during the test period. BTW, I do hope they eventually get it. |
Yeah. Sometimes they're there for reasons other than games, but they could get hooked on it. Like I said, I was a former arcade casual, but once I got hooked on Maximum Tune, things changed.
From what I heard, during the testing period, it did very well. It wouldn't make any sense why they wouldn't want it if it did very well, and for some, they're gonna need to get it in as not everyone lives near a Round 1, myself included.

QUOTE (N643 @ Today, 12:09 AM) | Lol the arcade I go to in China use to host the national finals
And the arcade is home to 2 top teams in China, yet they just barely making any money off of mt
Please u have to keep in mine that DnB is also a food joint, I work in a kitchen and I know how expensive things can be (beer money ain't to cheap lol)
Also with taobao opened to North America, u can order pass from taobao now for cheap with shipping and this will effect pass sales for sure |
Emphasis on used to.
Let me clarify my point. D&B return can be huge for areas that ONLY have D&B as an option of playing Maximum Tune. For example, the DDR A at my local Dave & Buster's is mostly dominated by hardcore players will occasional casuals. And I don't mean a few, I mean all of them, but that's because it's the only arcade in the area with DDR A. So, the same thing could happen with Maximum Tune, even if the local community is not as big, it could grow and be as big as the Houston DDR group.
Also I doubt that many people will go online to buy a pass unless it's a limited edition. Plus, a majority of american people don't know about taobao, and they'd rather buy a banapass in person when given the choice.

Ya but thats Texas, imagine the state of California where they might lose money on this, they cant risk one game for a few states when its provide national wide lol
Ddr and mt cannot be compared, as ddr is a household name with a console version and mt is not
Mt wont be huge period, it only be big as the north American gaming scene is pretty much dominated by sports games, COD, fighting games (mostly tekken/sf) and league
I get your point of view but seriously its not really enough to convince the ppl at D&B
Edit: found out that usa has konami's e-amusement available but only at R1 and DnB, im guessing DnB is not making much money out of DDR with the online and maintenance fee at some of their locations

"But that's Texas"? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Lose money in California? Dude, SoCal alone has a huge Maximum Tune community. Hell, you might get some retired players to come out of retirement with the new game arriving.
"Ddr and mt cannot be compared" Wrong Wrong Wrong. DDR hasn't had a console release for 6 YEARS. It also stopped becoming a household name when Konami gave up on it for a bit.
"Mt wont be huge period" Wow. Shitty thinking. Besides, they even took steps to try to get single serving players on board. (You know, the people who made the Cruis'n series so big.) Like, I don't even want to say it cause it still pisses me off.
You know, if D&B honestly wasn't interested, then why did they test it in the first place?

Jesus you get so triggered over the notion that D&B won't get the game.
What do you lose sleep over not being able to play MT or something?

So apparently, by your twisted logic, me having concern over the game not being at D&B accounts to me being "triggered"?! WTSF?! I've already explained this crap numerous times.
THERE'S NO ROUND 1 ME! There isn't, and there probably won't be for quite some time. And it isn't just me. There many other people who DON'T have A Round 1 near them, but they have a Dave & Buster's near them. For us, this is our ONLY way of getting a chance to play this damn game unless maybe a smaller independent arcade could afford it by some chance. But again, those chances are slim as hell.
Quite frankly, there's been no decent place in Houston to play MaxiTune for 5 EXCRUCIATING YEARS. And when an arcade does get it in, the card readers aren't on. Quite frankly, I've waited too long for this, and I'll be damned if one of the biggest stress relievers for me (This game) doesn't land up in one of the most obvious places it should be.
You can't ignore MaxiTune fans who have no Round 1 near them like me.

You are literally losing sleep over a video game and getting angry over people suggesting why D&B might not be getting it with Round 1.
Alot of things to worry about in life, Maximum Tune shouldn't be anywhere near the top 10. I don't have a Round 1 around me, but I'm willing to go all the way Philly just to play.

Dude, I've only just gotten angry only because the last thing you said was the straw that broke the camel's back. All I'm doing is debating about why it should be there.
Also, just because you may be willing to go all the way to Philly to play it, doesn't mean everyone else will be willing to go the distance to play it, whether it's because gas money, or lack of time.
And I'm only concerned because I'm passionate about the game.
