QUOTE (Myth_21 @ Nov 7 2015, 03:39 PM) | Holy shit PASTA. The guy who convinced me to make an SVX
They are actually like crazy good in WMMT5. Like, best four gear car by far. |
Hey hey, always nice to be recognized. Bad news, I can't find my SVX anymore (or my highest mileage Evo 8). Although I'm 70% they're both in my house somewhere, they are the ONLY two cards of mine I can't seem to find, so I'm thinking more like someone took them.
Either way, I've been keeping an eye on the SVX in 4 and 5, and it's nice to see it doing well. I'll definitely make one for old times sake, but being that we'll all basically have to start over, I feel like it might be time for a name change and a new main vehicle.

QUOTE (thatoldf33ling @ 5 hours, 54 minutes ago) | imo mostly true but, californias scene was thriving for a while until 3dx+ was our last ver. for so long. Of course I can't say much for the other states in america since most of us never traveled out of state for tournaments or heard of any but I'm sure there were some scenes that did |
(Below is my opinion only. Please no flames.)
Older (and now dead) arcades like Arcade Infinity, Japan Arcade, and Family Fun Arcade kept driving games like WMMT (and games in general) alive. I would see battles fought by friends and people hounding over them wanting to get even one game in.
When those arcades all disappeared, Round1 kept at least the WMMT drivers happy by having four cabinets of WMMT 3DX PLUS. I would go and see all four busy during the weekends, with people wanting to get their one game in. When Initial D was being updated constantly, all the cabinets from both games were busy with people and cards were being restocked consistently.
Then all of a sudden, Round1 ditched the WMMT fanbase by not buying any more cards and switching the game to Time Play, but kept the Initial D people happy with the new upgrade.
Now, when I go to Round1, I see all four cabinets empty, link cable not working, cabinets malfunctioning, etc.
I seriously went to Golfland last Friday on a whim to play the Pac-Man Chomp Mania game. When I saw WMMT 5, I just gazed at it, and the manager (who knows me quite well) noticed me too. I talked to him and the contractor who fixed the internet connection and the coin mechanisms. I apologized if I sounded too pushy. The contractor had a feeling I used to work at an arcade, and he was right.
I really hope Namco sees that the WMMT fanbase (at least in California) isn't dead, and we want this to be a permanent staple in our arcades.

(Cross-posted from location forums) Since the forums were down yesterday, I found out what it says in the fine print [on the flyer above the Terminal], which makes me a little concerned. "Car data used at Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune location tests cannot be used with official machines." I hope that's not the case, because if that means if WMMT 5 becomes an official game, we might need to start over again. But, I have hope, because there is this tidbit on this page which has already proven to be wrong: https://www.bandainamcoid.com/banapassport/en"The card used by the U.S. location test cannot be registered." === Anyhow, was a little disappointed in the turnout at Golfland yesterday. Not many people, not many VS battles... and the one I was in, the game malfunctioned. It went to "A new challenger" during our 1 on 1, then the game went blank and made both of us choose Story Mode, etc. (like when a cabinet crashes and reboots during previous versions). I tried the JAPAN CHALLENGE, and the first seven were easy, but then it started to get difficult. I can't imagine doing Hakone on 830HP to beat a section, but there is the option of beating two lower leveled cars to get past it. [ Post merged on Nov 12 2015, 08:11 PM ]QUOTE (N643 @ 18 minutes, 7 seconds ago) | try looking for regions under name search, might be better |
If one attempts that, only the United States shows up.

Yeah dude definitely. It's top tier as far as I'm concerned.
