It doesn't make a difference really, the option is there so that you can play with the style you're more comfortable with.

I prefer to use 5-gear cars because I'm adjusted to the shifting style, and I'm playing just fine.

The only things that make a slight difference are whether the car is 4wd, fr, ff, not 5gear/6gear.

hmm, shame on me for never running the story mode after the first time so here are a few questions

for the 2nd loop and beyond, does the traffic increase everytime the storymode is completed? and how much faster do the opponents in the storymode get...i mean, would they be ridiculously fast in for example, the 55th loop?

opponents are always at your speed... or slightly under... theres boost too anyway.

run a clean race, without hitting traffic/walls/barriers/anything, you'll win.

Oh, and traffic increases as you get higher ranked... sooo

there is no "better" car, its which car suits you the best...

i personally find:

32: Handling
33: Speed
34: In between

but as Remie said, check that thread...

Just to clarify about traffic.

Traffic does NOT increase with your story mode progress, it increases with your rank.

However, your rank goes up every time story mode completes for the first 6 loops or so, so that's why they're considered related by some players, but they're not.

when you race some one and you lose do they record the data of the lose on the card?
or is just like you lose whatever no record what so every about this 1 loose

So it makes sense to do storymode first, then work on everything else to avoid additional traffic, doesn't it?

Kinda a garbled question... but- if you lose in story mode your card gets shaded (the little icons for levels become filled in as opposed to outlined). certain bonuses and extras will be unavailable to you if you shade. If you lose vs a player- every loss and win is recorded and is available for you to view on the car review screen (just push the change view button a few times) at the beginning of each game after your card is read.

That's why the races and outruns sections are for. That particular data will show in the page where your aura is determined...Should be the after the time attack page...

If a MR2 is a car with good handling stats and low speed stats (assuming u noe how to use it), and a JZA80 would be a car with low handling stats but good speed stats, which car would then be the cars with the most even stats?

well, you wont see *that* much difference in ONE level... but i personally held off challenging anyone till i had a FT car.

Kuo, the machine keeps records of how many races you've had, and how many outruns you've had from there.

In a way, your losses are counted as well, but its not open for everyone to view.

Haha, I am not talking about 1 level here but tens of story loops. I am planning on SSS and I have debated whether to do the ghosts first or stories first but I just realized that since rank affect the traffic in story, then it would be much harder to do story after I have done the ghosts....
